Georgia’s Lottery-Funded Pre-K

A strong, joyful start to kindergarten and lifelong learning.

Honey Bear Daycare proudly offers Georgia’s Pre-K Program, a tuition-free educational program for eligible four-year-olds funded by the Georgia Lottery and administered by Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning.

Our Pre-K classroom combines purposeful play, active exploration, and intentional teaching to help children become confident, curious, and prepared for kindergarten. Instruction is guided by the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS), which are aligned with Georgia’s kindergarten standards and support a smooth transition into elementary school.

Children build important skills through engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences in:

  • Language, early literacy, and communication

  • Math, science, and problem-solving

  • Creative expression and physical development

  • Independence, self-regulation, and classroom routines

  • Cooperation, confidence, and positive relationships

Teachers observe children throughout the year and use ongoing assessment to understand each child’s progress, individualize instruction, and plan meaningful next steps in learning.

At Honey Bear, Pre-K is more than preparation for Kindergarten. It is a year of discovery, growing independence, meaningful friendships, and developing a genuine love of learning.

Eligibility note: Children must generally be Georgia residents and four years old on September 1 of the school year. Enrollment is based on available space.
